Questo libro raccoglie le speranze, i dubbi, i problemi, ma anche le gioie e gli amori che caratterizzano la vita degli adolescenti. Protagonista è Anna Maria, una ragazza virtuale che accomuna le esperienze di tanti ragazzi e ragazze della sua età, con i loro problemi e i loro sogni.
Il libretto riporta alcune citazioni dai numerosi scritti di sant'Agostino di Ippona. La raccolta, curata da S. Prandini, è suddivisa in sette capitoletti: Immutabile, Conoscerlo per amarlo, Volontà di conversione, Tardi ti ho amato, Abitanti di due città, Noi, gli altri e l'amore e Cantiamo con la vita.
Le "Confessioni" di Sant'Agostino costituiscono senza dubbio uno dei grandi classici della letteratura occidentale. Dalla tarda antichità al Medioevo, dal Rinascimento e fino ai giorni nostri, non hanno cessato di essere lette e meditate. Si tratta invero di un libro straordinario e - possiamo dire - unico nel suo genere: con una sincerità e un'immediatezza che raramente si riscontra negli autori antichi, Agostino vi traccia il ritratto di se stesso e della propria vita. Dall'infanzia ai turbolenti anni della giovinezza, per poi procedere verso l'età matura, i ripensamenti, gli sbandamenti, le esitazioni, infine la definitiva conversione al cristianesimo e la scelta della vita religiosa.

Sant'Alfonso Maria de Liguori è chiamato "il santo della preghiera" perché continuamente insegna e raccomanda la preghiera. Egli però sa bene che il dialogo con Dio nasce da un cuore che accoglie la Parola e la medita. "Per giungere alla perfezione - insegna - è necessaria la meditazione e la preghiera: con la meditazione vediamo ciò che ci manca, con la preghiera riceviamo quello di cui abbiamo bisogno". Per questo le novene alfonsiane prevedono, per ogni giorno, meditazione e preghiera. Con queste novene, che corrispondono alle principali devozioni del cristiano (a Gesù Bambino, alla passione e morte di Gesù, allo Spirito Santo, al Santissimo Sacramento, al Cuore di Gesù, a Maria santissima, a san Giuseppe, alle anime del Purgatorio), sant'Alfonso ci aiuta a ritrovare la gioia e l'entusiasmo dell'incontro con Cristo.
St. Anthony of Padua is one of the most popular saints of Christendom, renowned for his miracles and his concern for the poor. It is less well known that he was the first great theologian and teacher of the early Franciscan Order. Commissioned by Francis himself to teach theology to the friars, he fulfilled this task by composing his Opus Evangeliorum, a set of Commentaries on the Sunday Gospels. Beginning this work while superior at Limoges, he completed it at Padua. A little later, he undertook a second set on the Festivals and other important days, such as Ash Wednesday. This work was barely half finished at his death. Both these works are now for the first time translated in their entirety into English from the Critical Edition of the Latin text published by the Centro Studi Antoniani at Padua in 1976. The present volume comprehends Sundays from the first of Pentecost to the sixteenth after Pentecost. The translation, introductory material and notes for this edition are by P. Spilsbury.
